  • Congratulations to ACHS Dance Team: Class 3A State Champs!

    On December 17, the ACHS Dance Team competed in Jackson, MS, and won the title of Class 3A State Champions in Hip Hop for the 2nd year in a row!  The team is under the direction of Coach Candee Witt.  Pictured are the dance team members as follows:  (Top left to right) Erica Doran, Anna Bowling, Alissa Ann Williams, Taylor Bordeleau, Abbey Brooks, Katie Smith, Lakin Little, Caleigh Newton, Lindee Witt and Lindsey Miller; (Bottom left to right) Emily Strickland, Abby Little, Anna Wallace and Alicia Crum.  Congratulations to all of these young ladies for earning such an honor!

  • ASD Students Excel in Alcorn County Spelling Bee

    Congratulations to our Alcorn County Spelling Bee winners!  KMS student John Riley Stanford earned 1st place in the competition, which was held at Corinth High School on Tuesday, January 10.  Pictured are the winners from the Alcorn School District:  (left to right) John Riley Stanford (1st place-KMS), Alyssa McAlister (2nd place-KMS), Chris Miller (4th place-ACMS), and Lauren Walker (5th place-ACMS). 
  • KMS FBLA Raises $400 for Charity

    Just in time for Christmas, Kossuth Middle School's FBLA recently raised money for The March of Dimes Foundation. The $300 goal was soon exceeded by the hardworking members who raised $400. BJ Smith, the student who raised the most money, presented the total amount to JonJon Suggs, the community director of North Mississippi. BJ raised $40. In the picture, FBLA President Shelby Phillips and Vice President Anna Tyson hold the sign showing the goal.
  • ACTC's Teacher Academy Participates in Monthly Board Meeting

    Nan Nethery's Teacher Academy students from the Alcorn Career and Technology Center recently attended the Alcorn School Board meeting and observed the procedures of the monthly meeting.  Each student was able to meet the Board members, financial advisor, county attorney, and various others in attendance.  Noah Richardson, Stacy Estes (pictured speaking to Board), Allison Wright and John Andrews represented the group by addressing the Board with statements about the new program.  Click on the story link to view the complete article.
